The Architect

Mario Botta is one of my favorites, a very geometrical architect, he born in Mendrisio, Ticino canton, Switzerland, on April 1, 1943, and along his career, he has studied and worked with Le Corbusier and Louis I. Kahn, masters of the architecture, so i think he was so lucky, and smart. In fact, at the young age of 16 he design his first house, so early, just as his interest in architecture and arts, and because of that experiences he is one of the best in the world, with a very creative mind that uses to make complex textures, a lover of the red brick as a element to create that compositions, and a strong and geometrical way to represent architecture through basics forms, what makes me feel identified with his work, because that is what i want to do in the future; I like the way how he stand in front of the architecture. Anyways, I see a little kind of obsession with an estrange form like a circle with diagonal lines, like a leaf of a tree, figure that try to incorporate in his design every time he can, playing a essential visual work, as his sign.
Since 1970, year when he begins with his own office in Lugano, he has made a lots of houses and others projects in the world and principally in the Ticino region, Switzerland, where his style is very common. Some of his projects are Villeurbanne (1988), a cathedral in Évry (1995), and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art or SFMoMA (1994).
